Nanoscience and the ICN2 star at the CosmoCaixa European Researcher’s Night

The European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide effort to boosts public awareness of the positive role of research in society. This year’s program included a series of events at CosmoCaixa, with a specific area devoted to nanoscience and nanotechnology. Many coordinated institutions, including the ICN2, made it possible.

Divulcat visits the ALBA synchrotron

The visit to the ALBA synchrotron was attended by the staff of the center and two of the scientists that are part of Divulcat, the physicists Prof. Ramon Pascual, honorary president of the ALBA Synchrotron, and Prof. Jordi Fraxedas, group leader at the ICN2.

Feynman visits the Barcelona Science Fair with ICN2 ambassadors

Once again the Barcelona Science Fair brought together science lovers and scientists in a wonderful setting for family fun and discussion. The ICN2 joined the celebrations around the 100th anniversary of Richard Feynman’s birth, also presenting some of the highlights of its Severo Ochoa Programme.

NANO2ALL multistakeholder debate discusses RRI in nanotechnology

Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) practices are transforming the way science interacts with society. The ICN2 has been involved in the NANO2ALL project to organise two national debates where citizens and stakeholders debated about how to better identify and integrate societal needs, concerns and values in nanotechnology research and innovation processes. The conclusions of the national debates held in Europe are now available.
