ICN2 is participating in NanoSpain 2014, the leading nanoscience and nanotechnology event in Spain. The conference, from March 11th through the 14th in Madrid, aims to share a broad range of current research, promote interdisciplinary discussion, and link researchers and industries.
ICN2 is attending NanoSpain 2014, which is being held from March 11th through the 14th at the Escuela Superior de Ingenieros Industriales of the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid. Along with ICN2, research centers from Catalonia, such as the Barcelona Nanotechnology Cluster Bellaterra (BNC-b) and ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences, will also participate at the conference. Launched in 2004, the annual NanoSpain conference is the leading nanoscience and nanotechnology event in Spain. The goals of the conference are to disseminate knowledge, promote interdisciplinary discussion, and link researchers and industries in nanoscience and nanotechnology in Spain as well as in Southern Europe.
This year’s conference will cover a broad range of current research under the following topics: graphene, nanomedicine, nanomaterials, nanoelectronics, nanochemistry, nanomagnetism, nanophotonics, nanotoxicology, nanotubes, nanoelectromechanical systems, scanning probe microscopies, simulation at the nanoscale, industry, and scientific policy.
ICN2 is participating in several different aspects of the conference this year. Prof. Pablo Ordejón, the director of ICN2, is on the NanoSpain advisory board. At the conference exhibition, where members of government, academia, and industry can network and share ideas, Jordi Reverter and Alfonso del Rey of the Knowledge and Technical Transfer Office will distribute information about ICN2’s research, collaborations, and successes. In the technical program, Prof. Clivia Sotomayor Torres is Chairman of a Nanophotonics session, and Dr. Aitor Mugarza is Chairman of a Graphene session. Furthermore, several of the Institute’s researchers will give oral and poster presentations; details and links to abstracts of each presentation are given below.
