Get Ready to Celebrate International Women's Day with ICN2: Honoring Outstanding Achievements of Female Researchers!
Join us on Tuesday, March 7th, at the ICN2 Seminar room, to celebrate International Women's Day, wich is to be officially celebrated the day after the ICn2 event. This Day is an occasion to celebrate women's social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments. In the research field, women have made significant contributions to scientific knowledge and breakthroughs, yet they remain underrepresented in many areas. Achieving gender equality in research is crucial for scientific excellence and innovation, making ICN2 committed to promoting equal opportunities and supporting female researchers' career development. This special event will recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of the Women Talent 2022 Awardees.
On Tuesday, March 7th, ICN2 will host a special event to celebrate International Women's Day. This event will recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of the Women Talent 2022 Awardees, who have made significant contributions to scientific knowledge and breakthroughs. Yes, we are hosting the event the day before the official Day to allow you attend even more celebrations!
In the research field, women continue to be underrepresented in many areas, which is why achieving gender equality in research is crucial for scientific excellence and innovation. ICN2 is committed to promoting equal opportunities and supporting the career development of female researchers.
The event will begin with a welcome from ICN2 Vice-director and Group Leader, Jose A. Garrido, followed by an introduction to the ICN2 Equal Opportunities Committee. During this special event, we will hear from Neus Bastús, a CSIC Tenured Scientist at ICN2 and Chair of the Committee, who will be presenting the III ICN2 Equality of Opportunities & Diversity Management Plan 2023-2026. Additionally, we will be honoring the Women Talent 2021 Awardees with talks from Dr. Noemí Conteras (Best publication, predoctoral) and Dr. Ting Zhang (Best PhD thesis).
The event will also include a round table discussion on promoting career development for female researchers, featuring strategies that work and identifying areas that could be improved. The event will conclude with the 2022 Women Talent Award Ceremony and an announcement of the 2023 Women Talent Program.
