ICN2 is proud to announce this document, building on previous editions and focusing on fostering an inclusive and diverse environment beyond gender. The plan sets key objectives such as guaranteeing equality for all, promoting diversity and inclusion, and eliminating barriers to workplace success. Strategic actions include improving communication, increasing transparency in staff selection and promotions, and conducting training on equal opportunities. The ICN2 community will collaborate to implement and evaluate the plan, working towards a more inclusive future.
ICN2 is proud to announce the III Equality of Opportunities & Diversity Management Plan for the period of 2023 to 2026. This comprehensive plan underlines ICN2's unwavering commitment to fostering a more just, tolerant, and inclusive society, embracing diversity beyond gender. The plan builds upon previous editions from 2014-2018 and 2019-2022, strengthening our focus on equal treatment, opportunities, and the management of diversity in all areas.
A crucial step in the formalisation of this important document was the recent meeting with trade unions to review and approve the plan. Now it is time to focus on ensuring its successful implementation and impact.
The III Equality of Opportunities & Diversity Management Plan focuses on several key objectives, including:
- Guaranteeing equality for all individuals, irrespective of their gender, ethnicity, age, or any other characteristic
- Promoting diversity and inclusion
- Identifying and eliminating any stereotypes, roles, attitudes, or barriers that hinder equal access and progression in the workplace
These objectives were developed based on a thorough diagnosis and evaluation process that assessed the current situation at ICN2 in terms of gender balance and other diversity indicators. The process also measured the impact of actions undertaken as part of the 2019-2022 Equality Plan. The conclusions drawn from this evaluation have been used to define the goals and actions of the Equality of Opportunities & Diversity Management Plan.
The plan incorporates various strategic actions addressing identified needs, such as improving communication and increasing transparency in staff selection and promotions processes. It also includes training and awareness activities on equal opportunities, which will be conducted to promote understanding and facilitate the creation of an inclusive environment at ICN2.
One notable action within the plan is the recognition of outstanding publications and theses led by women. This action is part of a broader Women Talent Programme, which aims to empower and support women in their academic and professional careers. The Women Talent Programme encompasses several actions that foster equal opportunities and representation in leadership positions, mentorship programmes, and professional development.
Additionally, the plan establishes a communication channel for the ICN2 community to resolve issues that affect equal treatment and opportunities, providing an accessible platform for addressing concerns and fostering dialogue among all members.
Implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the III Equality Plan will involve collaborative work between members of the Equal Opportunities Committee and ICN2 staff. The Plan's actions will be carried out over the next four years, culminating in December 2026, with a final evaluation of the Plan's impact at the end of its application period.
ICN2 remains deeply committed to the principles of equality and diversity, and we look forward to making further strides in fostering an inclusive and equal environment for all members of our community.
