by Chema Arcos

This recognition highlights his exceptional career in electrochemistry, giving him the opportunity to attend their upcoming Annual Meeting.

Dr Gabriel F. Costa, a postdoctoral researcher in the ICN2 NanoElectrocatalysis and Sustainable Chemistry Group, has been awarded the ISE Travel Award 2025. Presented by the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), this prestigious award recognises significant achievements in the field by emerging young researchers.

Thanks to this honour, Dr Costa will be able to attend the 76th Annual Meeting of the ISE in Mainz, Germany, in September 2025. He will have the opportunity to present his work alongside other selected scientists and connect with some of the most prominent figures in electrochemistry.

At ICN2, we warmly congratulate Dr Costa on this well-deserved recognition. His group, led by ICREA Prof. Maria Escudero-Escribano, has become a national and international reference in the field of electrochemistry. Their research focuses on developing more sustainable solutions for producing fuels and other valuable products from renewable sources, with a significant impact on the chemical industry, agriculture, transportation, energy, and other sectors.
