Two-Laser Raman Thermometry is a new contactless technique to study the properties of a material at a nanoscale with higher precision. The two-laser approach has been developed by the researchers of ICN2 Phononic and Photonic Nanostructures Group.

Apart from surface topography, the new equipment can map electronic, electromechanical and magnetic properties of a material’s surface with nanoscopic lateral resolution, at temperatures as low as 4 K and under magnetic fields as high as 9T. It combines useful features for the Oxide Nanoelectronics Group that recently installed it at ICN2, as well as for other groups interested in fundamental properties of surfaces and 2-D materials.

The Ideas Generation Program organized by UAB and Parc de Recerca UAB (PRUAB) has announced it six finalists. Among them is SensSolutions, a water real time monitoring and treatment service participated by a researcher from ICN2. The 3 winners will be announced on Friday November 28.
